The waiting area at The Dental Cafe: a wooden communal table, bar stools, a coffee machine and a hygiene menu board on the wall.
Yes, there is a coffee machine. The hygiene menu is written up like one too – ours runs short, tall and grande.

Our two practices

Each practice has its own number, its own Saturday and its own booking link.

Call the practice you are going to visit, not the other one.

Since 2016

A dental practice that decided to behave like a cafe.

The Dental Cafe opened in 2016 and is led by Principal Dentist Dr Clare Robinson. There are two sites, St Mary's Road and Lord Street, and they are sister practices to the long-established Garston Dental Practice – so the approach is new, the clinical backing is not.

No waiting lists. New patients are taken at both practices.

Same-day emergency appointments when you are in pain.

Open six days a week, including Saturday mornings at both sites.

One £65 consultation is where every treatment plan starts.

Two members of the team with a patient who is looking at her teeth in a mint-green hand mirror. The Dental Cafe shopfront, with the practice name picked out in coloured dots on the fascia. A wooden chair with The Dental Cafe engraved into the seat.

Reputation

4.5 out of 5 on Google, from 125 reviews

Rated by the people who have actually sat in the chair.

The rating above is the Google aggregate for the Garston practice, recorded in October 2026. Read the reviews in full on Google rather than taking a selected handful from us.

Six days a week

Both practices open Monday to Saturday, with Tuesday starting at 08:00 for anyone who needs to come before work.

No waiting list

New patients are taken at both sites, and same-day emergency appointments are available when you are in pain.

Questions

Before you book

Are you taking new patients?

Yes, at both practices, and there is no waiting list. St Mary's Road covers Garston and south Liverpool; Lord Street is in the city centre.

Which number do I call?

The one belonging to the practice you want to visit. Garston is 0151 808 5388 and Lord Street is 0151 458 2222. Each practice also has its own booking link above.

Do you see emergencies?

Same-day emergency appointments are available when you are in pain. Call the practice nearest to you first thing and we will find you a slot.

What does the first appointment cost?

£65 for an examination, consultation or emergency appointment. Treatment is quoted from the fee list above once we have seen you.

Can I spread the cost?

Yes. Denplan spreads routine private care across twelve monthly payments, and Tabeo offers 0% interest-free finance over up to 12 months with no upfront payment, subject to status.

Are you open on Saturdays?

Both practices are. Garston runs 09:00 to 14:00 and Lord Street 09:00 to 15:00. Sunday is closed at both.

I am nervous about the dentist. Does that matter?

No. Tell us when you book and we will give you a longer appointment, talk through what is going to happen, and stop whenever you need to.
